Some scenes from WvWvW. My home server, Henge of Denravi, is absolutely dominating so far.

The cataclysmic, and I do mean cataclysmic, battle against the Claw of Jormag, the third and most powerful of the lieutenants of the Elder Dragons, in Frostgorge Sound. This is a level 80 event and merits its rating. This dragon likes to throw up ice barriers which must be knocked down in order to get at it. I can’t believe I didn’t get killed (though I did get downed twice) - Tequatl the Sunless usually kills me at least once when I go up against it.

Susanna at the end of today’s gaming session, having made level 80, completed the very difficult Fireheart Rise and having started the even tougher Frostgorge Sound. She’s standing on a vista overlooking the Kodan haven, and is pictured in her level 80 Masquerade armor, with mask visible and hidden.

The skill point at the heart of Mount Maelstrom, an exceptionally difficult and dangerous journey. You must fight your way through many oozes, embers and earth elementals.

Susanna at the vista at the summit of Mount Maelstrom. There’s something magico-technological going on down in the depths of the volcano…

September 8, 2012

The vista atop the ruined tower in the midst of Nomnoa Lake, and the fight with a krait witch atop that tower. The funny thing about that vista is that I wasted a nontrivial amount of time yesterday trying to get up what seemed like the obvious route to the top because it was the more difficult one, when the real route was the easier one.  ANet seems to like throwing the players occasional curveballs like that, so be advised!

Susanna atop a vista somewhere in the northeastern corner of Sparkfly Fen. I’m really not sure if this is the ancient site of Bogroot Growths or not; the dungeon might actually be further to the south. I’ve just started exploring that map (I stopped with Timberline Falls because I was getting frustrated with a certain vista) so I’ll have to make a more complete report later.

Susanna as of level 63. She’s still carrying her current weapons though she’s open to adopting new ones if ones better than what she has now come along.¬†

Susanna fights the Shatterer…again! (This time, she got the chest - the second time today, in fact.)

The Searing crystal in what was once Pockmark Flats, now Pockmark Roughs. You can see how the local ecology, even with the nearby presence of the Dragonbrand, has recovered at least somewhat in 250 years.

Susanna at level 60. She’s getting nicer equipment as she levels up, and I’m using transformation stones to combine particularly attractive pieces of armor.

September 1, 2012

Susanna at the close of today’s gaming session. She’s now level 54 and is wearing a mix of items (actually transmuted from a basic level 50 armor set). Her standard weapons are greatsword and staff, as seen here; she may need to get level 55 weapons soon, as she’s currently working with level 45 weapons. She’s just started exploring the Harathi Hinterlands (the level 35-45 Human area).

August 30, 2012

Susanna cracked level 40 and finished Brisban Wildlands, a surprisingly tough area considering that it’s rated level 15-25. She had a couple of drinks at the Lionguard’s tavern in Lion’s Arch to celebrate.
